Who is a gazetted officer?
A government officer whose appointment is published in the Gazette — Group A (Class 1) and Group B gazetted officers. See the list.
Is a notary a gazetted officer?

What is a first class magistrate affidavit?
An affidavit sworn before a first class (executive) magistrate, required when an office specifically asks for one. Full guide.
How long is an affidavit valid?
There's no fixed expiry, but many offices want one made in the last 3–6 months.
Character certificate
How do I get a character certificate?
From your school or college for admissions, from the police for jobs and tenders, or a gazetted officer for some government forms. Full guide.
Is a PCC the same as a character certificate?

Apostille & embassy attestation
What is the difference between apostille and attestation?
An apostille is accepted directly in Hague Convention countries. Other countries need MEA attestation and then embassy attestation. Read more.
Does the UAE accept an apostille?
No. The UAE needs MEA attestation followed by UAE attestation. UAE guide.
How long does attestation take?
Notary and gazetted officer: same day. SDM/HRD: days to weeks. Embassy chain: usually 1–3 weeks. Timelines.
What is MOFA attestation?
The destination country's foreign ministry attestation, usually the last step. MOFA attestation.

Yes. Originals are logged, stored securely and returned by hand or tracked courier.
