Short answer: Oman is an Apostille Convention member, but Indian documents are commonly attested through Oman's own process — now an electronic attestation service via Oman Post (launched February 2025) — after MEA attestation. We confirm the current route before you start.
Oman joined the Apostille Convention in 2012, but Indian documents for Oman are still commonly attested through Oman's own process. Since February 2025, Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs runs an electronic attestation service for documents from India through Oman Post, so applicants no longer need to visit Oman's missions in India. Requirements can change, so we confirm the current route for your document before starting.
